Tesla app notifications get cut off, and once dismissed they are gone. Here is how to read them in full on any Android phone — and how to keep a permanent history of what your car actually did.
Read past notifications with Android's own history
Turn on Notification history (Android 11 and later)
Open Settings → Notifications → Notification history and switch it on. On Samsung phones it is under Settings → Notifications → Advanced settings → Notification history. From then on Android keeps every notification from the last 24 hours — including the Tesla app's — with its full text, even after you swipe it away.
The limits
It only records from the moment you enable it, it only goes back 24 hours, and it shows the text of the notification, not what happened: no location, no duration, nothing you can search next week.
And the Tesla app?
Many owners find no notification list in the Tesla app on Android at all — which is why this question keeps coming up. The car's touchscreen has its own list, but that does not help when you are away from it.
